For over a decade, Amir has actively engaged in fostering interfaith understanding, trust-building, and peace-making within diverse faith and religious communities. His commitment to supporting dialogue and peace has been a guiding force in his endeavours.
Amir’s extensive research at Loughborough University focused on business diplomacy, sustainability, the net-zero goal, and decarbonization. Notably, his research was dedicated to the Late Queen Elizabeth II in 2021, earning him a deeply admirable acknowledgement from Her Majesty.
Amir is a founding member of the UK Greenhouse Gas Removal Futures Leaders Network (The UK GGR FLN) and actively participates in interfaith initiatives as a member of the interfaith committee at the Salaam Centre, a modern, inclusive, and eco-friendly multidimensional worship centre in North London. Amir is also deeply engaged with the esteemed Woolf Institute in Cambridge.
Additionally, he collaborates with the Westminster Cathedral Interfaith Forum, working on Pope Francis’s Encyclical Letter “Fratelli tutti” and “Laudate Deum,” which addresses urgent matters such as the global climate emergency, environmental challenges, and the collective commitment to safeguarding the planet.
In 2022, Amir joined the Barnet Multi-Faith Forum (BMFF) as an Environment and Sustainability Committee member. With a profound passion for uniting diverse communities, particularly faith communities, he aims to collaboratively address the climate change agenda, achieving lasting peace, supporting them in their low-carbon transition, and advocating for the UN Sustainable Development Goals at the local level. Highlighting Barnet Borough’s commendable commitment to becoming net-zero by 2042, the invaluable role of faith and religious communities as catalysts to mobilise actions, implement sustainable practices, and create a greener city for generations to come has the potential to be a beacon, inspiring all other communities around the world.
