Edgware is a place of rich architectural history and heritage. It has a variety of faith groups, open spaces and buildings which will be featured in the London Festival of Architecture 2024. Please come and join us to explore some of these amazing open spaces and places of worship beginning at 4.30pm for a 4.40pm start (BST), from Edgware Underground Station (Northern Line), in our third annual Faith and Peace Walk on Thursday 20th June 2024.
The walk will be divided into regular stops so you can stay with the group walkers as long as you can, to hear about the work of the venues, enjoy light refreshments and use facilities. The walk will end at about 7.30 pm with a visit to OneStonegrove community centre for light refreshments, a tour of the premises and to learn how we can recycle, re-use and combat climate change. We want to reimagine our beautiful world free of pollution, with people coming together and inspired to make a difference. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and take away ideas to lead a more sustainable lifestyle as part of Clean Air Day 2024.
Everyone is welcome, but please let us know if extra support is needed. You can join or leave the walk whenever you want but for a shorter walk, you can join or leave at St Margaret’s churchyard at 6.20 pm (5 minutes walk from Edgware Underground Station). You do not have to be of a specific faith or belief to attend. Children under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Full details of the walk route and venues will be available on the day.
Please note that photography will take place throughout the day and consent will be assumed by attendance. If you do not want to be in the images just let one of the stewards know on the day.
Your registration details may be shared with the venues you will be visiting. For registration purposes only, your name and contact details are essential. All other details are to help with organisation and support for attendees. If you do not feel comfortable with any of the registration questions please enter n/a or ‘none’ and move on to the next question.
