FOR PEOPLE ALL FAITHS AND NONE
As we approach the very darkest days of the year we want to offer each other Hope – Hope for a better 2021.
Hope for a time when we can be together in person.
Hope for a time when we can all come together in fellowship and common purpose.
In this spirit we are asking everyone in the Borough of Barnet to place a light in their window on Thursday 17 December between 5pm and 6pm
The last day of Chanukah (the Jewish festival of lights) and the beginning of the final week of Advent.
We intend this to symbolise not just hope, but our sharing of this hope with the world outside our windows; sharing it with each other, even when we cannot come together physically.
As it says in the Book of Proverbs, ‘The soul of man is the light of God.’
And in the memory of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks Z”L of Blessed Memory “For those who suffer in the dark places of the world we can light A Candle of Hope”

Safety first – alway take special care when using candles and never leave them unattended.
