As you may know every year in May, there is a national Dying Matters awareness week. This year it is 13th -19th May.
As part of this week, North London Hospice and Barnet CCG invite you to our free day event on Wednesday May 15th that will be exploring end of life care and how we can raise awareness of this across our diverse communities.
We’d like to invite you as a Neighbour, but also you may like to think about inviting the person you are supporting and other members of the community you think may find this useful.
Ticket numbers are limited so please book your place using this Eventbrite link.
We will send a full agenda closer to the event, in the meantime here’s a little taster of what you can expect!
Our theme is ‘Are We Ready? Opening doors and sharing better end of life care for everyone’
You will have an opportunity to hear from a range of professionals about end of life issues and we will be looking at:
- Planning for later life or end of life
- Spreading the word about talking more openly about death, dying, death and bereavement and making your wishes known.
- How we can ‘open doors’ to welcome and encourage all members of our local communities to access our services.
- Issues facing particular groups such as people with learning disabilities and their families or those who are homeless or facing homelessness.
There will be numerous information stalls and some brilliant dance, drama and film performances exploring our themes. We really hope you can join us and be involved in this enjoyable and entertaining event. Refreshments – including lunch – will be provided.
How to get there: http://barnetwellbeing.org.uk/faqs.
Please note there will be no on-site parking on the day. There are nearby buses and street parking with about 5/10 minute walk to the venue.
We will also be participating in another event on the same day in Edmonton which a few of you have expressed an interest in joining. We will send more details about it when we have them.
